When: 7pm, Wednesday 3rd March
Where: The Burlesque Lounge – upstairs, 267 William Street, Northbridge Model: Lola The Vamp
Cost: $15 on the door
Ok kids, this is it. Dr Sketchy Perth welcomes its biggest name in burlesque yet – the international burlesque starlet Lola The Vamp. Flying into town for The Burlesque Ball on March 5th, we are very lucky to have snaffled her up to model for us. I know I always say, “You won’t want to miss this” – but seriously, this time you will kick yourself if you do! We have limited seating so if you are late you’re going to have to stand!
Don’t forget to bring down your entries for the ‘Check Out My Mug’ competition which could win you free entry to Dr Sketchy for the rest of the year!
Lola The Vamp is among the world’s premier showgirls. Tease-o-rama headliner, Penthouse Pet, tabloid television scandal. She’s the star of the tease, the damsel of deshabille, the princess of boom boom!
Her sensual and stunning shows have captured the world’s imagination with even Nick Cave declaring her landmark-collectors-edition-Penthouse-spread “Beautiful” during her support shows for Grinderman and Nick Cave solo. Lola’s acts have graced stages in Hollywood, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Seattle, Portland, Edinburgh, Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney, and every stop in between. Now she comes to Perth for a very special Dr Sketchy.

Dr Sketchy’s needs some more receptacles for your pencil shavings so we’re running a little competition whereby you make them for us in exchange for eternal gratitude, glory and free entry to Dr Sketchy’s Perth for the rest of the year.
You can decorate your mug in any way you please – you can paint directly on it, wrap a sketch or other artwork on paper around it, sculpt on it or even make the whole mug yourself if you want. You have total creative freedom. They won’t be getting wet so they don’t have to be water proof.
Bring your entries along to the next session at The Burlesque Lounge on 3rdMarch or leave them at the Lounge if you can’t make it that night. Don’t forget to attach a tag with your name, phone number and email address. We will photograph all the entries and put them on the website where the public (that’s all you guys) get to vote on their favourite one. The winner will be announced at the April session.
The only rule is there are no rules. As long as your piece can hold pencil shavings and we can easily tip them out into the rubbish you can do what you like!
Last year saw the inaugural SketchyCon – a meeting of Dr Sketchy organisers from all around the world to network and discuss all things Sketchy!
This year there are plans afoot to make it even more exciting and to even bring over the founder of the first Dr Sketchy branch in Melbourne. All these plans need some moolah though, and that’s where you come in!
If you want, you can pledge anything from $1 up and once you pledge $5 or more you’ll get Cool Stuff ™. Yep, depending on how much you pledge, you will get anything from your name printed in the SketchyCon program to a signed copy of Molly Crabapple’s book, Scarlett Takes Manhattan or even free entry to Dr Sketchy for a year. Totally worth it? Hell yes!
I’m going to donate earnings from this Wednesday’s session so you can also help out just by turning up and sketching a beautiful lady. Ain’t that just sweet?
When: 7pm, Wednesday 3rd February
Where: The Burlesque Lounge – upstairs, 267 William Street, Northbridge Model: Brandy Savage
Cost: $15 on the door
Just as her name suggests, Brandy Savage is both sweet and intoxicating, and will leave you wanting more. This raven-haired beauty has thrilled crowds throughout Europe and is a favourite here in Perth thanks to her sultry yet cheeky performances. And we also welcome maestro MC Diggy Bones to guide proceedings. The perfect start to the 2010 Burlesque Lounge sessions!

Here ya go! I’ve just uploaded pics from the last session at BamBOO on 3rd January starring Mia Bella which also happened to be the first session for 2010! What a banging start to the year. We had 42 eager sketchers reclining in the lovely amphitheatre of BamBOO munching on woodfired pizza and sipping delicious cocktails prepared by our favourite bar tenders.
We’re back to our regularly scheduled venue of The Burlesque Lounge this year and have some super exciting models in store for you, not to mention Sugar Blue’s resident MC extraordinaire, Mr Diggy Bones.
Thanks very much to the talented Gregory Bruyer for being resident photographer on the night. Enjoy!
No really, look up. There’s a new link in our header now called ‘Private Parties’. Oh yeah, that means you can now book Dr Sketchy’s for your private function – be it a hen’s night, buck’s night, team building event, birthday party or anything else your little heart desires to have some Dr Sketchy hot sauce injected into!
We will provide a male or female model (we can cater to most requests), a timer/MC to guide proceedings, fun games and prizes. If required we can also provide a sketch pack to everyone there (sketch pad, pencil & eraser).
Click on the link above to find out more or send an email to Trixi Tassels to obtain a quote!
As Sugar Blue Burlesque’s favourite Master of Ceremonies, Diggy Bones has forged a name for himself within the community as a super cool cat who will bring music to your ears with his smooth crooner voice and sharp banter. Oh and did we forget to mention he’s been widely acclaimed as having the the best smile in show biz??
Dr Sketchy has managed to pin this masculine maestro down and is proud to announce he will now be our regular MC.
So, if you want a bit of hot sauce with your sketching, be sure to get on down to The Burlesque Lounge to watch this soul brother in action!
When: 7pm, Sunday 3rd January
Where: BamBOO (behind Luxe Bar), 446 Beaufort Street, Highgate
Model: Mia Bella
Cost: $10 on the door
She’s been the Dr Sketchy poster girl for all of 2009 and we’ve finally nailed her down to model for us. The first session for 2010 stars none other than pocket-rocket Mia Bella! She might be slight in height but don’t let that fool you – this girl packs more punch than Tyson and those curves are going to knock you right out! Renowned for her stunning fan dances, this burlesque starlet is going to make you forget all about that two-day New Year hangover.
And don’t forget that BamBOO has a well-stocked bar and delicious wood-fired pizza so you can keep your energy levels up during your frantic scratchings.
